It is with great delight that We
welcome you to BTB International School. Our educational programmes are very
well established. We are very proud indeed to be associated with the
International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) which means that our students
can be assured of the best curriculum available anywhere in the world. The IBO
Mission Statement claims that all IB World Schools offer ‘challenging
programmes of international education and rigorous asessment’. In addition, our teachers are simply the best we have been able to glean from all available
professionals in Jakarta and overseas. We also have IBO trained teachers who have many years of teaching experience.
Also, we have been an official
Cambridge International Centre since February 2010. For Grades 7 and 8, BTBIS
uses the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme with Checkpoint Examinations at
the end of Grade 8. Cambridge Checkpoint examinations provide a transferable
indication of academic progress for these students.
The Cambridge Lower Secondary 2 Programme is used for Years 9 and 10 with the
IGCSE Examinations at the end of Grade 10. These courses at BTBIS are taught
using “student-centred” methodologies and are implemented by highly-qualified,
trained teachers.
In our classes we are happy to report a
close relationship between teachers and students, and we work hard towards
developing strong ties between school and the home.
At BTB School, the respect towards
other people, other ethnics, other religions and other languages, is a living
example of the implementation of another aspect of the IBO’s Mission Statement
that ‘other people, with their differences, can also be right’.
Finally, we concur with the third IBO
Mission Statement that our school aims to ‘develop inquiring, knowledgeable and
caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through
intercultural and understanding and respect’. Welcome to BTB School where our students are certain to enjoy their stay – be
it for a short while or for the whole 12 years!
I am sure that everyone is already aware
by this time of the spanking new playground in front of the school developed
specially for our early childhood learners. Gone is the sand which proved to be
quite difficult to maintain. In its place is now a special rubberized colorful
flooring designed to protect our active kids from injuries during trips and
falls. Excessive flora, a possible breeding ground for insects and mosquitoes,
has been replaced with clear open spaces the students can actually use. The old
security post, as one Grade 3 boy puts it, looks like a delicious candy store!
The repainted wall on the right side is just as inviting for both students and
teachers alike. Additional kiddie toy cars for our existing race track
complement the whole play area.
